Seemingly focused more on action and mobility, Sekiro will not have the traditional "role-playing" elements found in From's previous games.

Game Director Hidetaka Miyazaki emphasized the game's vertical mobility and hinted that Sekiro will feature the same open-ended, ambiguous storytelling format of his previous works. He also introduced the concept of the game's Posture system, which, based on the interview, seems similar to the Dark Souls Poise stat. Hidetaka confirmed that the game will not have any kind of multiplayer system as well.
