Director Prabhat Roy, whose films always boast of a social agenda within the commercial format, has completed Pitribhumi based on a novel by celebrated Bengali litterateur Prafulla Roy. It has been shot within an incredibly short span of 33 days. "I wanted to make this film immediately after Swet Pathorer Thala which won the National Award for the Best Regional Film (Bengali.) But it took me many years to get a producer who would agree to produce this film," says Roy.
